ABOUT ME
As a contextual therapist, I support individuals, couples, and families in navigating personal, relational, and family-related challenges. I work primarily with Hungarians living abroad, as well as with international clients from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Having relocated to Amsterdam myself, I have experienced first-hand the many challenges of adapting to a new cultural environment, - from changes in identity and relationships to rebuilding everyday life in an unfamiliar setting. This personal experience enriches my professional work and allows me to connect with my clients' experiences with greater understanding and sensitivity.
My professional interests focus on interpersonal relationships, the complex process of migration, sociocultural adaptation, and mental well-being. My doctoral dissertation was conducted within the field of acculturation psychology and explored how the adaptation strategies and social networks of people living abroad change across different life situations.
Throughout my researches and therapeutic work, I have worked with a wide range of migrant groups, including international students, economic migrants, expatriates, people relocating for love or family reasons, and refugees. The stories and life journeys I have encountered have been deeply moving, reflecting both the diversity and the emotional richness of migration experiences.
Although living abroad can be challenging, lonely, and at times painful, it also offers remarkable opportunities for personal growth, self-discovery, healing past experiences, and recognising and transforming long-standing relational and coping patterns.
In my therapeutic work, I place particular emphasis on relationships, family and interpersonal dynamics, and the broader cultural context in which people's lives unfold.
I believe that many emotional difficulties can only be fully understood within the context of our relationships and life circumstances. My aim is to offer a safe, accepting, and collaborative therapeutic environment where clients can gain a deeper understanding of themselves, their relationships, and their own resources.
Continuous professional development and ongoing self-reflection are fundamental to my work. Alongside my professional training, I have engaged in long-term personal therapy from a psychoanalytic perspective and participated in various self-awareness groups. I work in private practice while receiving regular professional supervision to ensure high-quality and ethically grounded therapeutic care.
My goal is to support clients in finding greater inner stability and relational balance during times of change, and in discovering pathways that feel authentic and sustainable—whether they are navigating a new stage of life or adapting to a different cultural environment.
